Compensating and extension cables are used to transmit the thermoelectric voltage from the thermocouple to the cold junction.

In a wide variety of applications, such as in blast furnaces, cold stores or liquefied fuel gas plants, reliable temperature measurement and accurate transmission of the thermoelectric emf in mV is always required.

This is achieved by means of compensating and extension cables insulated with different materials.
