Galestro natural rustic red clay from Tuscany grog 20% 0-0.5 mm - GALESTRO

Galestro clay is made up of different types of clay, coming exclusively from Tuscany, containing iron oxide and copper sulfate, which gives it a very characteristic side.

Its natural patina gives a gradient of colors between red, pink, gray and white.

Carbonate and calcium salts ensure permeability and porosity, promoting good plant development.

Finally, its grain size, chamotte 0-0.5 mm, above all guarantees great resistance over time as well as climatic variations and negative temperatures, down to -30 ° C. This is the reason why it is commonly called terracotta "antifreeze".

Ideal for hand throwing, shaping, calibration and pressing plaster mould.

The characteristic of this paste is the presence of calcite burrs which therefore represents a value and not a defect.

For this reason, we recommend putting the object in a water bath or moistening it immediately after it leaves the oven to block the explosion of particles that could otherwise continue for long periods.

It is not recommended to enamel.
